LAPC Main Event Champion Michael Nia raised to 900,000 preflop, and Juan Lomeli called in the big blind. The flop came down [9d][8d][3s], and Lomeli open shoved all in, having Nia covered. Nia took a look at his cards, looking at the board again, then slammed his chips in to call.

Lomeli: [Kd][4d]
Nia: [Jd][10c]

Both players were on draws at the moment, which meant that the king high was actually the best hand at the moment. The turn was a brick, and the river [7d] completed both draws. But as we know, a flush beats a straight, and Nia was denied another major title here at the Commerce Casino.
