Ben Hoy opened the action by moving all in preflop, and Rachel Gardner (pictured above) called all in from the small blind for just a couple of blinds less.

Gardner showed [Qh][Qc], and saw she was dominating the [Jh][Jd] of Hoy. However, the lead flipped quickly when the flop came [Ks][Js][7h] to give Hoy middle set. Gardner and table mate Mike Hilaire started calling for a queen, and though it didn’t come on the [6d] turn, it did come on the [Qd] river.

Gardner celebrated with her rail, including husband and Commerce reg Mel Gardner, who was quick to point out to us that his wife has a knack for final tabling opening events of the series. She looks on track to do that again after that pot, as she is now up to over three million now.
