Marc Weinstein called us over to relay a wild hand that took place right after registration closed. The table was full of players with a fresh starting stack, and Weinstein, who had over 200,000 to start.
Mike Danley limped in under the gun, and saw two of players shove behind him. Weinstein looked down at Ace-Queen suited in the small blind, and called, only to also have Danley tag along to look for a quadruple up on his first hand.
Danley’s Ten-Nine would make a straight on a runout of [Qx][10x][8x][Jx][3x], beating the Queen-Jack, pocket deuces, and Ace-Queen of his opponents, while Weinstein could only laugh after taking the small hit to his stack.
